MEDIA RELEASE
SINGAPORE, 13 MAY 2024 – We are thrilled to announce our latest launch of Feelings Factory, an activity space that focuses on educating young children on emotional intelligence. It is located within KidZania, an indoor family attraction that exposes children to different jobs through role-playing.
In the context of escalating mental health challenges faced by children and youths today, we believe it is crucial that children are taught to identify and manage their emotions at a young age. About 1 in 3 adolescents reported internalising mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety and loneliness. However, having higher resilience will help to lower mental health distress in youths, underscoring the urgency for proactive intervention as early as possible.
To foster better resilience, children are empowered to understand and navigate their emotions effectively at Feelings Factory. Ultimately, we hope to normalise conversations about mental health and make it easy for parents to equip their children with necessary tools to effectively navigate their emotions.
Cassandra Loh, VP, Partnerships & Solutions at Intellect says, “At Intellect, we recognise the profound impact that emotional intelligence education can have on children’s mental wellbeing. Our launch of Feelings Factory at KidZania Singapore represents a significant milestone in our mission to promote emotional resilience in our society. Together, we hope this platform can help children cultivate essential emotional skills in a supportive and engaging environment.”
